We provide individual counseling at our office in West Fargo, ND and via telehealth to those living in North Dakota and Minnesota.

Darren Carter

M.S., M.Ed., LPCC, NCC

Darren received his Masters degrees in clinical psychology and in mental health counseling at North Dakota State University. Darren is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and specializes in evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP) to treat obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, anxiety disorders, and other mental health conditions. 


Darren enjoys working with pre-teens, adolescents, and adults. Prior to joining Carter Clinical Counseling, he worked as an OCD and anxiety disorder specialist at a local group practice.


In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and cats, running and hiking, watching sports, and bonfires on summer nights.

Elizabeth Carter

M.S., M.Ed., LPCC-S, NCC

I am a graduate of North Dakota State University, receiving a masters degree in Clinical Psychology (M.S., 2012) and another in School Counseling (M.Ed, 2014). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Minnesota and an Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota. 

I enjoy working with adults of all ages, but have spent most of my career working with young adults (18-35). 

When working with clients, I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approaches, particularly when working with those with depression, anxiety, and phobias. I also like to assist individuals with OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also have a particular interest in helping those going through life transitions, such as loss of relationships, grief, or adjusting to a new environments. 

In my free time, I like to travel, read, hone my skills as an apprentice master gardener, and most importantly, I like spend time with my spouse and two mischievous cats.
